Thomas Skinner has opened up about his future plans with Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden after his exit at the weekend. The former Apprentice star became the first contestant to be eliminated from the 2025 competition after landing in the bottom two with rugby player Chris Robshaw. The 34-year-old performed his Salsa to Dizzee Rascal and Armand van Helden’s Bonkers once again with Amy, however the judges unanimously chose to save Chris and his partner Nadiya Bychkova. They had scored a total of 16 that week for their Viennese waltz to Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ Die with a Smile – three points up from Tom and Amy. Taking to X this afternoon, Tom once again said that he was “gutted” to be out of Strictly – having filmed his final interview on It Takes Two with Amy yesterday. “Happy Tuesday, you lovely people!” he wrote on X. “Back where I belong, in my trusty Ford Transit van! Been up early, grafting away. Picked up a cracking parcel of men’s designer jumpers this morning, stopped by my local pub and sold a load already! “Absolutely gutted not to still be on Strictly, but what an amazing experience it was. Met the incredible Amy Dowden and my whole family loves her. She’s an inspirational woman and a proper diamond.” He added: “We filmed our last It Takes Two last night, then went out for a bite to eat and promised each other we’re not stopping dancing!” He revealed that he’s planned to continue lessons with Amy, writing: “I’m definitely getting a few more lessons in. Have a brilliant day everyone. keep smiling and keep going. Don’t go home until ya Proud Bosh.” While he repeated the message in the post’s video, he also said: “Amy Dowden is actually probably one of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my life. My family lover her, my wife loves her, my kids love her. “We’ve both decided that we’re not going to give up the dancing because I still need a few more lessons so I’m looking forward to doing that. Want to wish you all a fantastic day – I want to get out there, let’s duck and dive.” After their exit on Sunday night, Tom said that he loved the experience and apologised to Amy for only lasting a few weeks. “I’ve never danced before and my stay was short, but Amy’s amazing. It’s been great fun and I’ve enjoyed it,” he said. “I can’t really dance that well but I’ve had fun! Thank you, Amy – sorry that we haven’t done too good, ‘cause you’re a different class.” Amy went on to say that she “got to know the real Tom” in the competition and that he’s “adorable”. She continued: “We’ve worked so hard and a glitterball would have been amazing but what I’ve learnt in the last few years is happiness, health and being alive is more important than anything. “I’ve made a new friend for life and I wouldn’t change a thing. There is a Ballroom boy in there so I’m a bit gutted he didn’t get to do the Ballroom, but the last three years as you know have been quite difficult for me. I lost all confidence as a dancer – but walking into the room with you with a massive smile and a laugh, you brought me back and, honestly, thank you.” Join The Mirror’s WhatsApp Community or follow us on Google News , Flipboard , Apple News, TikTok , Snapchat , Instagram , Twitter , Facebook , YouTube and Threads – or visit The Mirror homepage.
