George Clooney On Raising Kids Away From Hollywood

George Clooney Opened Up About Raising His And Amal Clooney’s Kids Far, Far, Far Away From Hollywood, And Here’s How People Are Reacting
“I was worried about raising our kids in LA, in the culture of Hollywood. I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life.”
George and Amal Clooney are super committed to keeping their 8-year-old twins out of the spotlight.
Not only has George spoken openly about why he (understandably) doesn’t want pictures of his children circulating online, but Amal has also admitted that she confiscates the phones of people who attend her home to prevent the kids from being photographed.
And this week, George has opened up further about maintaining his kids’ privacy during a new interview with Esquire, where he detailed their quiet life away from Hollywood.
“You know, we live on a farm in France,” George shared. “A good portion of my life growing up was on a farm, and as a kid, I hated the whole idea of it. But now, for them, it’s like — they’re not on their iPads, you know?”
“They have dinner with grown-ups and have to take their dishes in. They have a much better life,” he continued. “I was worried about raising our kids in LA, in the culture of Hollywood. I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life.”
“France — they kind of don’t give a shit about fame. I don’t want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi. I don’t want them being compared to somebody else’s famous kids,” George added.
The author of the Esquire piece noted that George’s lavish farm has “a hundred acres of grapes and twelve hundred olive trees.”
Reacting to George’s comments, several internet users applauded the actor for giving his kids a normal life away from LA. “good for him! i totally forgot they had kids and don’t think i’ve ever seen a photo of them. no better way to do it,” one person wrote, while someone else agreed, “Who can blame him. If I could raise my kids on a farm in France, I would.”
“I think keeping them from that lifestyle is healthy and good. Hollywood/LA is soul sucking and vapid. If they can provide their kids with a stable environment that’s healthier and more nurturing away from the public eye, they def should,” another user said.
“Extremely healthy parenting decision tbh,” someone else wrote, while another added, “Good on Clooney for wanting his kids well adjusted.”
