The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has called on the former Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, to ensure that the country, and especially the university, benefits from India’s resources.
Speaking at the special send-off lunch held in honour of Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso following his appointment as Ghana’s High Commissioner to India, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II described India as a technologically advanced country.
According to the Asantehene, the former VC should use his new office as a means of leveraging more resources for the country.

“Now, I am giving him some assignments. Listen, you know the state of the university as we call it. India has technology. Please, make sure that my university benefits. Make sure that Kumasi benefits. Make sure that Ghana benefits. And therefore, that is the charge to him.
“… He’s been talking to me previously, and he spoke to me also about certain things, and he’s noted that the university can benefit from India, and Ghana can benefit from India. So I know he’s not going to let me down, he’s not going to let Ghana down. So it’s a charge that I have given to him,” he said.
The Asantehene further noted that Professor Obiri-Danso’s new role as Ghana’s High Commissioner to India will help the country’s agricultural sector.
