NORMAN — Leelee Bell, a five-star power forward recruit in the class of 2026, announced her commitment to Oklahoma women’s basketball last Saturday.
A 6-foot-3 talent from Minot High School in Minot, North Dakota, Bell is ranked the No. 1 player in her state by the 247Sports Composite ratings.
The 247Sports Composite also ranks Bell as the No. 8 power forward and No. 24 overall player nationally in the 2026 class.
Bell’s other major scholarship offers were from Notre Dame and Louisville.
Brandon Clay, 247Sports’ director of women’s basketball scouting, published a brief report on Bell in July of last year.
“Bell has the size and stature to be a factor at multiple positions in the front court,” Clay wrote. “She’s willing to get downhill to attack and look to score. Bell’s ability to score the basketball and help rebound is a major plus. Bell is comfortable facing the basket to score the basketball. She will shoot the 3-pointer, attack left into a midrange or take the basketball all the way to the rim.
“When Bell gets in her bag offensively, there aren’t five to seven prospects at her position who are more proficient at getting to their spot to score.”
Bell is the first class of 2026 commit for OU and coach Jennie Baranczyk.
