Andhra Pradesh achieved 10.80% GSDP growth rate due to collective efforts, says Finance Minister

Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav said the government achieved a GSDP growth rate of 10.80%, significantly higher than the national GDP growth of 8.80%, thanks to the collective efforts of all. He stressed the need to sustain this performance in the coming years to realise the Swarna Andhra – 2047 vision.

Addressing the inaugural session of the Collectors’ Conference at the Secretariat on Monday, Mr. Keshav said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was steering the State forward with innovative ideas and unmatched energy. He advised the Collectors, especially the newly joined young officers, to learn from the Chief Minister and remain in constant touch with the people to understand and fulfill their needs, thereby achieving the desired satisfaction levels. Mr. Keshav urged the Collectors to prioritise planning, which is often overlooked but crucial to achieving developmental goals, while keeping welfare at the forefront.

People-friendly revenue system

Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad said the government is developing a people-friendly revenue system, and its success depends largely on how Collectors implement it at the district level. He highlighted that a special law has been enacted to prevent land grabbing, and strict measures are in place to curb irregularities in the allotment of freehold lands. A Group of Ministers has been constituted to study these issues and make recommendations for government action. Emphasis was laid on completing land registrations within 15 minutes, provided all stipulated documents are submitted.

Outlining various initiatives of the Revenue Department, Mr. Prasad stressed that Collectors must ensure industries use allotted lands for their intended purposes to boost employment and economic growth.

Hybrid health insurance scheme

Health Minister Y. Satya Kumar said the government has recently approved a new hybrid health insurance scheme covering 1.63 crore families, providing an annual insurance cover of ₹2.50 lakh per family, with access to 324 medical services under the scheme. For families already covered under the Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva scheme, the government bears medical expenses exceeding ₹2.50 lakh, up to ₹25 lakh. He also alleged that the YSR Congress Party government’s claims on the establishment of medical colleges were exaggerated.
