Bank OZK filed application to open 2nd Winston-Salem branch

Bank OZK has made official its plans for a second Winston-Salem branch by requesting Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. approval to open a location at 215 Summit Point Lane in the northwest section of the city.
The Little Rock, Ark., based bank purchased the site for the proposed branch in June, spending $1.35 million for an outparcel lot on the 22.9-acre Lowe’s Home Improvement store property off University Parkway.
A Forsyth County Register of Deeds filing identified the acquired property as Lot A4.
In November, the bank filed an application with the FDIC for permission to open a branch at 502 E. Mountain St. in Kernersville. The 0.56-acre tract contains a 2,024-square-foot building, according to a commercial real estate flyer.
The bank has six Triad branches, including at 1230 Creekshire Way off Hanes Mall Boulevard in Winston-Salem.
The other branches are at: 352 N.C. 801 South, Advance; 1107 S. Church St., Asheboro; 166 Huffman Mill Road in Burlington; 119 W. Center St., Lexington; and 135 Boxwood Village Drive, Mocksville.
