Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday announced that the Vahana Mitra scheme, which is intended to provide a financial assistance of ₹15,000 per year to autorickshaw drivers, would be launched on the Dasara day.
Addressing an impressive gathering of TDP, BJP and JSP leaders and activists at the ‘Super Six-Super Hit’ meeting organised at Anantapur to celebrate the successful implementation of the poll promises made by the NDA, Mr. Naidu accused YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of indulging in malicious propaganda on the medical colleges issue.
The Chief Minister dared Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy to attend the Assembly sessions and discuss the same. “The Jagan style politics will not be tolerated in the CBN-Pawan Kalyan government. Anyone who tries to defame or humiliate women on social media platforms will not be spared,” Mr. Naidu said.
Mr. Naidu, along with JSP president and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, BJP State president P.V.N. Madhav, a host of Ministers and MLAs, addressed the workers of TDP, JSP and BJP.
Mr. Naidu said the NDA government stands for accountability and that is why Cabinet Minister Nara Lokesh was asked to skip the meeting and given the responsibility of overseeing the efforts being made to bring back the Telugus from the violence-hit Nepal.
Mr. Naidu alleged that the previous YSRCP government had devastated the State with scams, debts, false cases and driving away investors. That was why the TDP had promised ‘Super Six’ schemes to change the fate of the poor and the middle class.
“They (YSRCP) mocked the Super Six schemes, saying those could not be implemented. But, we have proved them wrong,” Mr Naidu said while listing out the poll promises fulfilled by his government.
“We will fulfil another promise by launching Vahana Mitra scheme on the Dasara day,” he said, adding that the Centre has already given a gift through the GST reforms.
Taking potshots at the YSRCP, Mr. Naidu said the status of Chief Minister or Leader of Opposition is given by the people. “The people have not given the YSRCP the status of Opposition, because of their misdeeds while in power,” he said.
Further, Mr. Naidu said giving land or laying a foundation stone does not mean setting up a medical college. “The YSRCP government had proposed 17 medical colleges, but completed only one at Paderu. Though we are trying to complete the proposed medical colleges, the YSRCP is resorting to propaganda. Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy campaigned with the slogan `Siddam’ before the elections. I am asking if he is ready for a debate now. I dare him to attend the Assembly session and participate in the debate,” Mr Naidu said.
The Chief Minister also outlined his plans for the development of the State and Rayalaseema region, with the support of the Centre.
Mr. Naidu asked the NDA MLAs to be polite and friendly with the people and earn a good name for themselves and the government.
