Conversations around work-life balance have become increasingly common topics of discussion, highlighting a growing awareness of their impact on employee well-being and overall organisational performance. Shedding light on the same, a video has surfaced online that has reignited discussions around toxic work culture, men’s mental health, and the fragile balance between professional duties and family life.
The clip, shared on Instagram, captures a heated exchange between a visibly exhausted man and his wife after he reportedly returned home following a 72-hour work shift.
What’s In The Video?
In the now-viral video, the woman is seen angrily confronting her husband for spending just 16 hours at home while working 72 hours straight. “Aa gaye. 16 ghanta ghar me dijiyega, 72 ghanta rail ko dijiyega… Pura din ka ghar ka kaam hum hi karte rahe. (You’re here. You will give us 16 hours at home and 72 hours at the railways. I’ll be doing the housework all day. You are back after 72 hours, tell something),” she yells, expressing frustration over his absence and lack of involvement in family life.
The man, appearing too drained to respond, remains silent throughout the confrontation as his wife criticises him for not spending enough time with the family.

Social Media Reacts: “Men’s Mental Health Also Matters”
The video has triggered a flood of reactions online, with many expressing concern for the man’s well-being. They pointed out the emotional and physical toll long working hours can have on men, who often feel societal pressure to silently bear the burden of providing for their families.
“Look at the tiredness in his eyes,” a user commented.
Another added, “That man is quiet. It shows he has seen drama like this many times before and has learned that being quiet is the best solution.”
Many pointed to the emotional labour both partners endure, saying, “Both perspectives are valid. He needs rest, and his family needs him more.”
Others criticised the wife’s tone and said, “I don’t know, but I am feeling so angry… Arre let your husband come in, let him have a glass of water, let him freshen up and change, and when he is relaxed, then talk to him.”
Some users defended the woman’s outburst, taking it as concern for her husband’s well-being: “She is shouting for his own good, and it’s time he understands it. 1. His work is exploiting him. 2. He needs to spend his life with his wife and kids as they are giving him.”
“That’s sick … have some empathy, woman … he is exhausted… Let him breathe,” echoed a few.
The incident has become a flashpoint in a larger, ongoing conversation around overwork and burnout, particularly in demanding sectors where long shifts and irregular hours are common.
