Football fans pleading for Irish legend to be guest on Stick to Football podcast

Football fans are calling for an Irish legend to be the next guest on the popular podcast series, Stick to Football.

The podcast, with regular panellists Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott and Ian Wright, is one of the biggest in the world.

Regularly attracting over one million viewers on Youtube alone, it discusses football’s biggest talking points, as well as inviting on some of the biggest names in the sport, including Thierry Henry, David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and Patrick Vieira.

From Irish football, Denis Irwin was a great guest on the show, as was former Ireland manager Martin O’Neill, while golfing superstar Rory McIlroy has also made an appearance.

But there is one former Irish player that fans of the show have been calling for some time – and that is Paul McGrath.

McGrath was, of course, one of the best defenders of his generation, enjoying a storied career for Ireland, Manchester United and Aston Villa, among other teams.

Having grown up in foster care in Dublin, McGrath has been open about his mental health struggles and his alcoholism throughout his life.

And many football fans are calling on Stick to Football to invite the 65-year-old onto the show to discuss his remarkable life.

It would certainly be interesting to see McGrath and Keane interact and reminisce about their Ireland days under Jack Charlton.

In a recent fan poll, Keane was voted the greatest Republic of Ireland footballer of all time, while McGrath came in third position.
