Couple cited for misuse of a parking lot for smoking pot at hotel: Brunswick Police Blotter

BRUNSWICK, Ohio
Drugs, Town Center Boulevard
Police investigated a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Comfort Suites at 2:05 a.m. Sept. 24 and cited the 20-year-old driver when “the strong odor of burning marijuana and smoke [was] detected coming from the vehicle.” Police searched the car and marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found. The driver was cited for misuse of a parking lot, drug abuse and drug paraphernalia possession, and he and his 20-year-old passenger were released.
Disorderly conduct, Dorchester Drive
Police responded to a barking dog complaint on Dorchester Drive at 6:48 p.m. Sept. 27. While investigating that incident, a Dorchester Drive resident came out of his house and “began yelling profanities toward officers while in the presence of other neighbors and children,” according to reports. After repeated warnings, the man was arrested for persistent disorderly conduct and was taken to the Medina County Jail.
Theft, Center Road
An Elyria man was arrested for stealing $114 worth of sports trading cards from Meijer at 4:40 p.m. Sept. 24. He later posted bond and was released with a court date.
Impaired driver, Miner Drive
A driver was pulled over at 3:37 a.m. Sept. 28 for speeding. The officer reported smelled the odor of alcohol and the driver was slurring his words while speaking. He failed field sobriety tests, refused a breath test and was arrested for operating a motor vehicle impaired, speeding and weaving in his lane.
Theft, Center Road
A Sullivan, Ohio, woman was arrested at 7:34 p.m. Sept. 27 for stealing $231 worth of items from Meijer. The woman drove from the store in a silver Chevrolet Cruze and police pulled her over on Center Road. The stolen merchandise was found and returned to the store and the woman was released with a court date after posting bond.
Theft, Hadcock Road
Police responded to a report of a package delivered by Amazon being stolen from a resident’s porch Sept. 29. There was no further information at the time of the report.
