The Press will select four MVPs each week of the high school football season based on their performances the previous week.
Fans can vote at pressofac.com for one of the four to be named The Press Player of the Week. Voting closes at noon each Wednesday, and the results will appear Wednesday online and in print Thursday.
Marvin Burroughs
Atlantic City
The sophomore quarterback completed 13 of 18 passes for 365 yards and six TDs as the Vikings beat Vineland 55-10. Burroughs has thrown 16 TDs this season. Atlantic City (5-1) will play at Eastern Regional (4-2) at 6 p.m. Friday.
Lucas DeBiaso
Mainland Regional
The junior running back/defensive back rushed 12 times for 129 yards and a TD to propel the Mustangs to a 20-7 win over Ocean City. DeBiaso also intercepted a pass in the win. Mainland (3-3) will host Egg Harbor Township (1-5) at 6 p.m. Friday.
Aamir Dunbar
Cedar Creek
The senior running back carried 21 times for 190 yards and three TDS as the Pirates beat Oakcrest 35-6. Dunbar has rushed for 1,008 yards and 12 TDs this season. Cedar Creek (5-1) will host Lower Cape May (5-1) at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Anthony Salamone
St. Joseph Academy
The junior quarterback completed 10 of 15 passes for 181 yards and two TDs as the Wildcats beat Buena Regional 34-8. St. Joseph (4-1) will play ACIT (2-3) at 1 p.m. Saturday in Brigantine.
