International conference on nutraceuticals and chronic diseases to get under way today

The University of Kerala is set to host the 7th International Conference on Nutraceuticals and Chronic Diseases (INCD-2025) and the 11th Symposium on Translational Cancer Research from October 6 to 8 at its Karyavattom campus.

The three-day global event, jointly organised by the Society for Nutraceuticals and Chronic Diseases (SNCR) and the Society for Translational Cancer Research (STCR), will focus on the emerging role of nutraceuticals in managing chronic diseases through the integration of traditional knowledge and modern biomedical innovation.

Indian Space Research Organisation chairman V. Narayanan will inaugurate the conference. Kerala University of Health Sciences Vice Chancellor Mohanan Kunnummal, who also serves as the Vice Chancellor in-charge of Kerala University, will deliver the presidential address.

Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment Member Secretary A. Sabu; National Centre for Cell Science Director Sharmila A. Bapat; SNCR president and STCR secretary Oommen V. Oommen will also speak on the occasion.

Regional Cancer Centre Director R. Rejnish Kumar will deliver the valedictory address on October 8. Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) Vice Chancellor in-charge A. Bijukumar will be the chief guest on the occasion.

The event will also feature keynote and plenary lectures, young scientist sessions, oral and poster presentations and industry showcases. Renowned experts will present insights into emerging research areas, including cancer biology, nutraceutical therapeutics, nanotechnology in healthcare, epigenetic modulation, microbiome diversity, biofilm regulation, 4D omics integration, AI-based nutraceutical discovery, and precision medicine. The conference has drawn delegates from 44 leading institutions across India and abroad, a press release stated.
