I’ve reviewed a lot of gaming monitors over the years, and one of the coolest innovations I’ve seen recently is dual mode, which lets you instantly switch between different resolutions and refresh rates. These devices can get pricey, but I just found a fantastic deal that can save you hundreds off one of my personal favorite gaming monitors.
Right now, the LG UltraGear 45GX950A-B is on sale for $1,699 at Best Buy. This is a nice $300 reduction from the standard $1,999 price tag. Not only is this one of the best gaming monitors I’ve reviewed, but it’s also a game-changer for productivity. Let me tell you why you should consider buying the LG UltraGear 45GX950A-B.
LG UltraGear 45GX950A-B: was $1,999 now $1,699 at Best Buy
The LG UltraGear 45GX950A-B impresses thanks to its 45-inch curved OLED panel, vibrant picture quality, smooth gaming performance and ability to switch between two different display modes. While it doesn’t get overly bright and is very expensive, few monitors deliver such an immersive experience.
This monitor’s dual mode functionality allows you to swap between 5K resolution at 165Hz and 2K resolution at 330Hz with the press of a button. 5K mode gives you the best picture quality, while 2K delivers a quicker refresh rate for playing fast-paced competitive games. This way, you’re basically getting two gaming monitors in one.
Like I said in my LG UltraGear 45GX950A-B review, the other standout feature is the 21:9 45-inch 800R curved panel, which draws you into whatever game you’re playing. The expansive display also gives you plenty of space for multiple windows, which is a big plus for productivity. While you’ll need a suitably big desk for this gargantuan monitor, its generous screen real estate is nothing to balk at.
The gorgeous OLED panel, with its excellent contrast between dark and light elements, is another selling point. Everything looks best in 5K resolution mode. It’s easy to see even the smallest details without a problem. Things don’t look as defined in 2K, but the picture quality is still relatively good, thanks to the 45-inch curved display. You’ll need a powerful gaming rig to take full advantage of this monitor’s dual refresh rates, but you can still benefit from the fast refresh rate and low response time even on a more modest PC.
The LG UltraGear 45GX950A-B is an incredible gaming monitor that I loved testing, and I know you’ll be equally pleased. At this reduced price, it’s well worth checking out.
