In view of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s scheduled visit to Koppal district on Monday, preparations are under way for the inauguration of ready development projects and also, for laying foundation stone for new ones, together worth ₹2,000 crore.
Minister for Backward Classes Welfare and Kannada and Culture Shivraj Tangadagi, who is district in-charge, visited the venue on Saturday and took stock of preparations under way.
During the inspection, the Minister reviewed arrangements at the main venue in Agadi Layout on Hosapete Road, including the main stage, media gallery, seating for dignitaries and the public, drinking water facilities, vehicle parking, and exhibition stalls set up by various departments.
The Minister held discussions with officials to ensure that all arrangements are in order.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Tangadagi said that over one lakh people, including beneficiaries, are expected to attend the programme.
He emphasised that drinking water and food arrangements should be meticulously planned and all officials must take precautions to ensure that visitors face no inconvenience.
“Adequate security will be provided by the police and parking area for buses bringing beneficiaries should be properly managed. Department exhibition stalls will provide comprehensive information about government schemes to farmers, women, students and the general public,” he said.
Koppal MLA K. Raghavendra Hitnal, the former Minister Amaregowda Patil Bayyapur, Deputy Commissioner Suresh B. Itnal, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Varnit Negi, Superintendent of Police Ram L. Arasiddhi, Chairman of the District Guarantee Scheme Implementation Authority Reddy Srinivas and Vice-Chairman Manjunath Gondabal, along with representatives from various district-level departments and other officials accompanied the Minister.
