Gear up for local body elections to be held early next year in Andhra Pradesh, Pawan tells JSP cadre
Jana Sena Party (JSP) president and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has exhorted his party MLAs, MPs and MLCs to gear up for the local body elections scheduled to be conducted early next year, and ensure that the good work being done by the coalition government reaps electoral dividends.
“Focus should be on employment generation, construction of roads, safe drinking water supply and sanitation, among others,” Mr. Pawan Kalyan said while addressing the JSLP meeting on Saturday evening, and suggested that the elected representatives take care of five constituencies each and work in close coordination with the local cadre to achieve the best results.
Also, he advised the leaders to understand the aspirations of youth and women, who play a crucial role in the State’s endeavour to become a progressive State, and keep in touch with the people by conducting ‘Jana Vani’ programmes in the Assembly constituencies and district headquarters at regular intervals.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan wanted leaders to travel extensively in their respective areas to get a grasp of the issues faced by the people and help the government in taking action, and spreading awareness about the government’s development and welfare activities.
He ordered that committees be constituted within the legislature party to focus on major issues and reports submitted in six weeks.
Referring to the local body polls, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said the JSP cadres should work hard in the places contested by them and respect the sentiments of TDP and BJP candidates entering the fray on behalf of the alliance.
