The DUP has announced that Pam Cameron has been removed from her post as Junior Minister in a mini-resuffle of the party’s front bench. East Belfast MLA and the party’s former justice spokesperson Joanne Bunting, has been promoted to the Junior Minister role, where she will assist deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly in The Executive Office. Paul Frew will take over as chair of the Justice Committee from Ms Bunting, while Peter Martin will chair the Infrastructure Committee, taking over the responsibilities of Deborah Erskine, who is on maternity leave. DUP leader Gavin Robinson said: “I want to thank Ms Pam Cameron for her valued contribution on our behalf in the Executive Office as a Junior Minister over the last nineteen months. “Pam will take up a number of important tasks within the DUP Assembly group in the months ahead as we work on behalf of those who elected us. “As Joanne, Paul and Peter take on new roles, I know they will approach these with determination and work to deliver in the best interests of Northern Ireland.” For all the latest news, visit the Belfast Live homepage here and sign up to our politics newsletter here.
