Over the first eight months of this year, 20 facilities in Tashkent found to be polluting the atmosphere were temporarily suspended, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change reported.
To improve air quality in the capital, 12 regional working groups were established, bringing together more than 150 specialists from various ministries and departments. Their task has been to reduce emissions from industrial enterprises, social sector facilities, and greenhouse farms.
The working groups continuously monitored the activities of industrial enterprises, greenhouses, and other facilities that could harm the atmosphere. From January to August 2025, 1,452 facilities were inspected, 174 night raids were carried out, and 281 violations were identified. Administrative reports were issued against 154 individuals, while the court ordered the temporary suspension of 20 facilities.
