ECHL: Maine Mariners Add Lynden McCallum and Shawn Element

Shawn Element developed his game in the QMJHL, where he played from 2016 to 2021 with several teams. Over the course of his junior career, he appeared in 274 regular-season games, putting up 89 goals and 81 assists for a total of 170 points.

In May 2021, Element signed a two-year AHL contract with the Syracuse Crunch. While he spent a good portion of his time with the Crunch, he also gained valuable experience in the ECHL, particularly with the Orlando Solar Bears. Element’s most notable ECHL stint came during the 2021–22 season when he was assigned to the Solar Bears. In just 14 games, he managed to score four goals and add five assists for nine points.

In the 2024–25 season, Element signed an AHL contract with the Ontario Reign. He appeared in 64 regular-season games, recording nine goals and five assists for 14 points. Along the way, he logged 35 penalty minutes. Element also suited up for two playoff games.

Whether in the AHL or ECHL, Shawn Element continues to play with determination and grit, carving out a career through hard work and consistent effort. He could be a great roster fit for Maine.
