Health camp conducted for mahouts of Dasara elephants

HEARt Organisation, Mysuru, in association with Avant BKG Hospital, conducted a health check-up camp for mahouts and kaavadis of the Dasara elephants on Tuesday.

Shivakumar, founder-president of HEARt Organisation, said the organisation has been actively working in the fields of health, education, and rehabilitation of the local communities. “Our objective is to identify health problems at the primary stage through community health camps, provide consultations for further treatment, and build a healthier society,” he added.

The camp was organised to monitor the various health parameters of the mahouts, kaavadis, and their family members, as a special gesture given their important role in the Dasara festivities.

During the camp, 45 individuals underwent general health check-ups, 45 were tested for blood pressure and diabetes, 35 received CBC tests, and five underwent ECG examinations.

Avant BKG Hospital managing director Dr. Shobha Balakrishnegowda, and others were present.
