Bechem United are still searching for their first win of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season after being held to a 0-0 draw by Basake Holy Stars at the Nana Gyeabour Park on Sunday.
The Hunters controlled much of the possession and enjoyed more attacking momentum, but they failed to register a single shot on target despite winning nine corner kicks against their opponents’ eight. Basake Holy Stars, on the other hand, managed the game well and tested Bechem’s defense with their only effort on target, but could not break the deadlock.
The stalemate leaves Bechem with just one point from two matches, following their opening day defeat to Bibiani GoldStars. For Basake Holy Stars, it marks a second successive draw after sharing the spoils with Eleven Wonders last weekend.
Both teams have struggled in front of goal in the early weeks of the season, and the match reflected their lack of cutting edge in the final third.
Bechem United will now turn their attention to a tricky away fixture against Kpando Heart of Lions next week, while Basake Holy Stars will take a break from action, with their scheduled opponents Asante Kotoko engaged in CAF Confederation Cup duties against Kwara United.
