BBC Strictly Come Dancing's La Voix under fire for 'little dig' at co-stars

A Strictly Come Dancing star has sparked controversy after appearing to make a pointed dig at fellow contestants regarding their previous dance experience. The popular BBC dancing show made its return this evening (October 4) with the second live programme of the series, presented by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. Fresh celebrities graced the stage to showcase their dancing abilities to the judging panel of Shirley Ballas, Anton Du Beke, Motsi Mabuse, and Craig Revel Horwood, with the first elimination scheduled for Sunday. Kicking off tonight’s show was La Voix alongside partner AljazÌŒ Skorjanec performing a jive. However, La Voix quickly faced criticism for her remarks about fellow competitors from the previous week, reports Wales Online . Discussing her co-stars from last week, she described their routine as “incredible,” before commenting: “One’s an athlete, one was doing tap in Billy Elliot, all I’ve done is JD Sports once a week, and the only tap I know is in Screwfix, it’s terrible, Claudia.” Yet her observations didn’t sit well with viewers. Taking to X, one viewer commented: “Not sure I like the little dig at other contestants there, especially as a performer on stage – hmm.” Another posted: “La Voix throwing clear shade at Amber and Lewis, referencing their previous dance experience. That’s not going to go down well.” A third remarked: “La Voix saying that she did a great jive last week because she’s an athlete. No La Voix. She did it well because she’s got Lioness grit and determination!” However, a fourth added: “Yes, La Voix calling out the hypocrisy of having trained dancers on the show!” La Voix has become renowned for her sharp-tongued observations on the programme, with viewers eagerly anticipating her next quip. She even took aim at Tess’ outfit this evening as the presenter donned a striking red suit. Following their performance, Tess remarked, “One thing’s for sure, you still know how to put on a show.” La Voix shot back: “Thank you, and you clearly used to work at Butlins.” She continued, “It catches on the red, it catches on.” One admirer gushed online: “La Voix coming for Tess each week is so funny. She needs to make the final for this alone.” Another enthused: “la voix might actually be the funniest thing to happen to this show omg.” Strictly Come Dancing returns on Sunday on BBC One.
