Dan Marino, the legendary Miami Dolphins quarterback, has revealed openly about his battle with a liver condition, expressing how lifestyle modifications have helped him to get back the control over his health. Marino, who celebrated his 64th birthday on September 15, was diagnosed in 2007 with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), previously known as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. The condition is due to fat buildup in the liver and, if untreated, can result in liver cancer, cirrhosis, and liver failure. Marino also adopted a Mediterranean diet, limiting wine, pizza, candy, and ice cream from his habits.
