The Palace appeared to snub the Duke of Sussex after the Royal Family failed to publicly wish Prince Harry on the occasion of his 41st birthday today.
It comes after his wife, Meghan Markle marked the occasion with a tribute to the ‘birthday boy’ on her Instagram account.
On Monday, the Duchess of Sussex, 44, posted a picture of Harry that was released by the Palace on the occasion of his 31st birthday a decade ago.
The throwback snap was taken during an official engagement on the airfield at Goodwood Aerodrome in 2015, as he was shown a Spitfire Aircraft.
However, there was radio silence on the Royal Family’s official social media accounts amid hopes for a reconciliation between King Charles and his estranged younger son after they came face-to-face for the first time in 19 months last week.
The Royal Family’s Instagram account was abuzz with updates and glossy videos of preparations for Donald Trump’s upcoming State Visit on Wednesday.
In a series of separate clips, it showcased how the Household, including the kitchens, library, and military staff, were being readied for the US President and First Lady Melania Trump.
Each of the channels, including that of the The Prince and Princess of Wales, failed to post a mention of Harry’s birthday – despite his reunion with King Charles at Clarence House just days ago.

The apparent snub has reignited speculation about lingering tensions behind Palace walls, despite heartening signs that father and son were slowly mending their fractured relationship just days after a 54-minute reconciliation meeting.
Harry’s ‘Global Sussex Supporters’ have, meanwhile, shared their own tributes to the Duke under the hashtag #HappyBirthdayPrinceHarry on X/Twitter.
One person wrote: ‘A very happy birthday to Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex! Husband, father and philanthropist. A great advocate for veterans, children and people in need.’
‘Happy Birthday to the People’s Prince, HRH Prince Harry!’ another added. ‘Wishing you a day filled with love, laughter & purpose. Your Global Sussex Supporters celebrate you today and always.’
It’s not the first time the Palace has failed to wish the royal, including an apparent snub on the occasion of his 39th birthday on September 15, 2023.
As athletes at the Invictus Games in Germany serenaded the Prince with renditions of ‘Happy Birthday’ and inundated him with gifts – good wishes were notably absent from the monarchy’s official social media accounts.
They were flooded with posts about King Charles, Prince William, Princess Kate, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh – without mentioning Prince Harry once.
However, the King and the Prince and Princess of Wales publicly wished Harry a happy 40th birthday last year – in what some saw as a carefully co-ordinated peace offering.

Despite silence from the royals, supporters shared their own tributes online under the trending hashtag #HappyBirthdayPrinceHarry
It was the first time in three years that the Royal Family marked his birthday on X/Twitter and Instagram – as they do for all working royals – and two years since the last time they mentioned him in any capacity.
Privately, it was stressed that this was simply in line with ‘tradition’ in which public good wishes are shared on ‘significant’ birthdays for even non-working royals.
Both Meghan and Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, have had their landmark birthdays celebrated in this way in recent years – her 40th and his 60th respectively.
The picture of Harry was taken in 2018, when he was still a working royal, during a visit to a start-up in Dublin with Meghan. However, the Duchess was cropped out of the image, seemingly by the original photographer, at the time.
The Duke of Sussex’s 41st birthday celebration came as he landed back in the US after a successful trip to the UK last week.
Prince Harry’s spokesman said he ‘loved’ being back in the UK and ‘catching up’ with his good causes and friends.
The Duke wrapped up his trip with a visit to a charity founded in memory of his mother, Princess Diana, one day after reuniting with the King for the first time in 19 months.
Speaking to The Guardian, Harry declared the ‘focus really has to be on my dad’ in the next 12 months.

His spokesperson gave an upbeat review of the UK tour, saying: ‘He’s obviously loved being back in the UK, catching up with old friends, colleagues and just generally being able to support the incredible work of the causes that mean so much to him.’
The Duke carried out his final engagement on Friday, an event linked to the Diana Award, in central London as he brought his four-day solo trip to a close.
Prince Harry also revealed that his tell-all memoir Spare and Netflix series were ‘not about revenge’.
And he said: ‘You cannot have reconciliation before you have truth.’
Harry made the comments during a visit to Ukraine, just days after a 54-minute meeting with his father King Charles III in a bid to heal their strained relationship.
I didn’t air my dirty laundry in public – and want to focus on my dad next year, says Prince Harry
It was the first time the prince had seen his father in 19 months, and although he said the ‘focus really has to be on my dad’ in the next year, he declared his ‘conscience is clear’.
During a sit-down interview with The Guardian in Kyiv, he said: ‘I know that [speaking out] annoys some people and it goes against the narrative.
‘The book? It was a series of corrections to stories already out there. One point of view had been put out and it needed to be corrected.’
He added: ‘I don’t believe that I aired my dirty laundry in public. It was a difficult message, but I did it in the best way possible. My conscience is clear.’
‘It is not about revenge, it is about accountability.’
Harry also revealed the words of wisdom his wife, Meghan, gave him were to ‘just stick to the truth’.
Harry’s 416-page tome Spare made a series of jaw-dropping claims and laid bare the rift within the Royal Family.
One accusation aimed at his brother accused William of leaving Harry with visible ‘scrapes and bruises’ after an alleged attack.
He claimed: ‘[William] grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor.’
It also claimed William teased Harry about his panic attacks and that King Charles put his own interests above his second son, and saw Harry reference taking cocaine, marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms and his enjoyment of the TV show Friends.
The Duke of Sussex’s controversial memoir became the UK’s fastest-selling non-fiction book ever after being published by Penguin Random House in January 2023.
