A gunman who shot several people at a country club in the US State of New Hampshire apparently shouted “free Palestine”, according to witness reports of the incident. One person was killed, and two other people were injured in a shooting at a wedding in the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua on Saturday. In a statement, New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella and Nashua Police Department Chief Kevin Rourke said that they arrested a 23-year-old man, Hunter Nadeau, and charged him with murder. He is set to appear in court on Monday. The statement went on to say that he “shot and killed Robert Steven DeCesare (age 59) with a handgun. There is no known connection between Hunter Nadeau and Mr. DeCesare. In the same incident in which Hunter Nadeau shot and killed Mr. DeCesare, Hunter Nadeau shot and wounded two other adults.” Witnesses who were present during the shooting, which took place during a wedding reception at the club, said that the assailant shouted “the children are safe” and “free Palestine”, according to reports by news outlets CNN and NPR. Both the police and Attorney General did not mention any of the alleged comments in their statement, merely stating that: “Additional information will be released as it becomes available while protecting the integrity of the investigation.” The incident was described as “tragic” by New Hampshire Democratic Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander. I’m closely monitoring the tragic reports of a shooting tonight at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua. My heart is with the victims, their families, and the entire Nashua community as we await more information.https://t.co/vDVAQuE4g7 — Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander (@RepGoodlander) September 21, 2025
