One of the great digital tools rolled out by the Government over the last decade or so is whereyourmoneygoes.gov.ie.

It’s a website that allows anyone to look up details about how public money is spent. Colourful, easy-to-follow graphics chart things like the share of taxpayers’ money that goes to health versus housing, for example. It’s easy enough for a 12-year-old or, God help us, even a journalist to understand.
