Union Minister of Health, Chemicals and Fertilizers J.P. Nadda interacted with the representatives of Pharmaceutical, Bulk Drug, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) and Medical Device sectors, along with AMTZ officials, at an event conducted by APIIC, during his visit to Visakhapatnam on Sunday (September 14, 2025).
The discussions focused on the sector’s growth, opportunities, and strengthening collaboration to advance innovation and global competitiveness across pharmaceuticals and medical devices. During the event, key features of the A.P. Bulk Drug Park and Medical Devices Park were showcased.
Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Steel Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma, Minister of Food Processing T.G. Bharat, Anakapalli MP C.M. Ramesh, Secretary to Government of A.P. Industries and Food Processing N. Yuvraj were among those present, according to a statement issued by Ramachandra Reddy Yeluri on Monday (September 15, 2025).
The strengthening of medical devices ecosystem was also discussed apart from welcoming the GST exemption on cancer medicines and suggesting further rationalisation on essential drugs and medical devices to improve affordability and patient access.
