Atlanta Greek Film Expo Celebrates 10 Years, October 17-19

ATLANTA, GA – The Atlanta Greek Film Expo marks its 10th anniversary this fall, celebrating a decade of bringing the best of contemporary Greek cinema to Atlanta. From October 17-19, at the historic Tara Theatre on Cheshire Bridge Road, the weekend event offers a dynamic lineup of feature films, shorts, special events, and celebrity guests.

This year’s Expo will open on Friday, October 17, 7 PM, with ‘Stelios’, the critically-acclaimed box office hit in Greece that chronicles the life of beloved singer Stelios Kazantzidis. After the screening, audiences will enjoy a live Q&A with lead actress Asimenia Voulioti, who stars as Marinella in the film. A Red Carpet Opening Party will follow at the Tara Theatre.

The weekend program includes four additional feature films: the documentary ‘Takis’, the comedy ‘Murphy’s Law’, and two dramas, ‘Riviera’ and ‘Meat’. The Expo will also showcase four short films and the premiere of Atlanta artist George Skaroulis’ latest music video.

The celebration concludes at Kyma, Atlanta’s premiere Greek restaurant, with the Grand Finale Party where the audience can mix and mingle in true Greek style.

“Ten years ago, we launched the Expo to connect Atlanta with Greece’s vibrant film culture,” said Maria Sharp, Lykion ton Ellinidon Atlanta President. “This year’s milestone edition honors that tradition with films, music, and celebrations that reflect the heart of Greek creativity.”

Tickets, including individual passes and six special discount packages, are available now at www.atlantagreekfilm.org.
