Metropolis Resort announces expansion of Action City

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – Metropolis Resort is going before the planning commission regarding a major expansion of Action City, Eau Claire’s largest indoor family fun center.
According to a press release from the Metropolis Resort, the multi-phase expansion will significantly enhance the guest experience for visitors throughout the Chippewa Valley and beyond. The project’s first phase is the construction of a new 50,000-square-foot building filled with exciting new attractions, slated to open fall of 2026.
The expansion is designed to enhance the experience for its primary audience of families with children (ages 5-15), while also introducing new thrills for young adults (18-25) and creating new opportunities for corporate groups, schools, and youth organizations. While a full list of attractions will be revealed over the coming months, resort officials confirmed the new building will feature several state-of-the-art attractions unique to the region.
“This project has been a vision for a long time, so it’s incredibly exciting to finally break ground and begin the process of bringing it to reality,” said Billy Bandli, Project Manager at Metropolis Resort. “This announcement officially begins a new and exciting chapter for us. As a family-owned business, Metropolis Resort is proud to deepen its investment in the Eau Claire community alongside our dedicated local partners. The mission to create a premier destination for fun and joyful memories is the driving force behind this expansion, and we can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”
The resort plans to share regular construction updates and behind-the-scenes content through its social media channels and email newsletters.
WEAU will be interviewing Billy Bandli, the Resort Project Manager, during our 4 p.m. newscast on Friday.
