ATLANTA (WANF/Gray News) – Actor and singer-songwriter Tyrese Gibson was arrested after his dog allegedly killed his neighbor’s pet, according to authorities.
Fulton County police had issued an arrest warrant for Gibson after one of his four Cane Corso dogs allegedly killed a neighbor’s dog, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, on Sept 18.
Officials said his four dogs were seen on camera scratching at a door across the street from where the dog was found dead minutes before the attack.
The dogs were “reported running loose on five occasions” before the attack, Fulton County officials said.
On Friday, he was charged with one count of animal cruelty.
Jail records show the “Fast & Furious” actor has since been released.
Earlier this week, Gibson’s attorney released a statement saying his client was “cooperating fully” with Fulton County law enforcement.
The attorney said the actor “extends his deepest condolences to the family who lost their beloved dog to this tragic incident that occurred while Mr. Gibson was away from his home.”
Following the incident, Gibson made the difficult decision to rehome his dogs to a safe and loving environment.
