Prosecutor’s Office: No permit issued for 30-storey building on Tashkent hotel site - Qalampir.uz

Reports circulated on social media claiming that a 30-storey business centre would be built on the site of the Grand Mir Hotel in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent. However, such a project has neither been reviewed nor approved. This was stated in the response letter of the Tashkent City Prosecutor’s Office to a citizen’s inquiry.

It was stated that the Tashkent Prosecutor’s Office received a complaint from a citizen regarding the construction of a high-rise building on the site of the former Rossiya Hotel (now Grand Mir Hotel) on Mirobod Street in the Yakkasaray district. During the review, the city prosecutor’s office sent an inquiry to the Tashkent Main Construction Directorate concerning the information stated in the complaint. According to the data provided by the Directorate, no application for the development of architectural-planning requirements or for the approval of project documentation for construction on the hotel’s territory has been considered by the working commission of the Architecture and urban planning council.

According to resolution no. 880 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 24 December 2024 ’’On the approval of the master plan of Tashkent city until 2045’’, the maximum permitted height for construction at the above-mentioned location is five storeys.

The results of the review were communicated to the applicant.
