Community Clothes Give-A-Way, Health & Wellness Fair
Greater Divine Missionary Baptist Church, 6045 Hooper Road, Baton Rouge, will hold its annual Community Clothes Give-A-Way and Health & Wellness Fair for the surrounding community from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
This free outreach event offers new and gently worn adult and children’s apparel along with access to wellness resources. The public is invited.

Blessing of the pets
In honor of St. Francis of Assisi’s feast day, St. Francis Episcopal Church, 726 Maple St. Denham Springs, will host a blessing of the animals at 9:30 a.m. Saturday on the church lawn.
Clergy from St. Francis and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, members, friends and pets of all kinds are invited. The church asks that all pets be safely contained or leashed for the comfort and safety of everyone at the event. Photos of pets and stuffed animals also are accepted.
St. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals and the environment, known for his love of all creation. He also cared deeply for the poor, so pet food for Denham Springs Animal Shelter will be collected on Saturday.
