Here are some key retail and business openings and closings for the St. Louis area in September:
Openings
Abercrombie & Fitch, 1701 South Lindbergh Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63131: Abercrombie & Fitch opened in the Plaza Frontenac this month, taking over the space that was occupied by a movie theater.
Beans and Brews Coffeehouse, 7409 South Outer Road 364, Dardenne Prairie, MO 63368: Beans and Brews Coffeehouse was founded in Utah in 1993. This month, it opened its first Missouri franchise location. Its menu offers hot and iced specialty coffees, frozen drinks, teas, energy drinks and food.
Betty’s Books, 8772 Big Bend Boulevard, Webster Groves, MO 63119: Betty’s Books is moving about a mile down the road from its original location as the business continues to grow.
Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate Company, 5025 Pattison Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110: Bissinger’s and Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate opened its expanded factory, new cafe and event space this month. The cafe includes an espresso bar, sandwiches, pastries and seats 25 people.
Dutch Bros, 2475 Troy Road, Edwardsville, IL 62025: Dutch Bros opened its first Illinois location this month. The coffee chain has over 1,000 locations across 19 different states.
East Coast Pizza, 1120 Technology Drive, O’Fallon, MO 63368: East Coast Pizza is the sister concept to Epic Pizzas and Subs. East Coast pizzas are New York style made with fresh dough, homemade sauce and locally sourced produce.
First Watch, 1035 Southern Ridge Lane, Lake St Louis, MO 63367: First Watch also has locations in St. Louis’ Central West End and in St. Peters.
Mom’s Deli, 5425 Hampton Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63109: Mom’s Deli closed its longtime location along Jamieson Avenue in Lindenwood Park in February. The closure followed the dismissal of a lawsuit between the shareholders of Mom’s Deli and the members of the LLC that owned the property at 4412 Jamieson.
O’Love Oil and Gourmet Foods, 135 Chesterfield Towne Center, Chesterfield, MO 63005: This new store sells olive oils from around the world, balsamic vinegars, infusions, gift sets and more.
PGA TOUR Superstore, 141 Highlands Boulevard Drive, Manchester, MO 63011: The space features a 1,250-square-foot putting green, practice bays, indoor golf simulators, repair services and golf lessons from professionals.
Royal Banks of Missouri, 8550 Olive Boulevard, Olivette, MO 63132: This bank branch includes a cafe and a public-use community room.
The Sovereign, 3306 Washington Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63103: The Sovereign is a new music venue with the capacity to hold 1,200 people. It’s the companion venue to the Old Rock House.
Stacked STL, 400 North Euclid Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63108: This burger bar officially opened its Central West End location in September. It is in the former Pi Pizzeria space.
Telle Tire and Auto, multiple locations: This St. Louis-based auto repair and tire center opened a new location in Ballwin (14943 Manchester Road) and Chesterfield (17401 Chesterfield Airport Road), this month.
Tender Love BBQ, 10233 Manchester Road, St. Louis, MO 63122: Tender Love BBQ opened in the food hall of Schnucks Kirkwood with a menu of brisket sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches, beef sausages, spare ribs, rib tips and more.
TBR Books, 203 West State Street, O’Fallon, IL 62269: O’Fallon is getting a new independent bookstore. While its store is under construction, TBR Books is located in a pop-up space from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
Upshot Coffee Flyby, 3172 Morgan Ford Road, St. Louis, MO 63116: This coffee spot takes over the Road Crew Coffee & Cycles space. The business said it will continue to host weekly rides.
Closings
Fan Cave STL, 17E West County Center, Des Peres, MO 63131: Fan Cave STL, a sports cards and collectibles store, closed its West County Mall location this month so that ownership can further focus on its Kirkwood location.
The Healing Arts Center, 10073 Manchester Road, St. Louis, MO 63122: This massage therapy school abruptly closed, to the surprise of its students. The center had been operating for 35 years and promised certification in 50 weeks.
Hot Pizza Cold Beer, 610 Washington Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63101: Hot Pizza Cold Beer closed after less than two years downtown. The concept comes from the team behind barbecue joint Sugarfire Smoke House and its burgers-and-sandwiches spinoff Hi-Pointe Drive-In.
The Teachers’ Lounge, 21 Ronnie’s Plaza, St. Louis, MO 63126: After 18 years, The Teachers’ Lounge, a teaching supply store, closed its doors in September.
Webster Groves Garden Cafe, 117 East Lockwood Avenue, Webster Groves, MO 63119: The Webster Groves Garden Café closed after eight years under the ownership of musicians Mandy and Gary Schoenberger.
