Keith Urban returns to stage days after Nicole Kidman divorce filing

And the star did not wear his wedding ring for the concert, as he also made a crucial change to the setlist to skip a song closely associated with his marriage to Kidman.

Urban fronted up to an arena full of thousands of fans for the Hershey, Pennsylvania show of his High and Alive World Tour, which will continue with another seven dates across the US in the coming weeks.

There was one noticeable change to the show, which he has been touring around the US for the past several months: Urban dropped his loved-up hit single The Fighter from the setlist.

It’s a surprising omission given the song’s one of Urban’s biggest hits, a three-million-selling smash in the US – until you look at the lyrics.

“And it’s gonna take just a little time / But you’re gonna see that I was born to love you,” Urban sings in the 2016 single, which he has previously revealed was written as an ode to Kidman.

“I’m here to remind you, you’re my only one, let me be the one / To heal all the pain that he put you through, it’s love like you never knew… just let me show you.”

Urban, who had performed the song at all his recent concerts before his split from Kidman was announced, replaced it in the setlist with the song Wild Hearts, which is a lyrical ode to “the drifters / And all of the dreamers ready to fly / All those born to be rock stars.”

Urban’s concert is his first public appearance since Kidman filed for divorce earlier this week, citing “irreconcilable differences” with her husband of almost two decades and demanding primary custody of their two daughters.

Amid the fallout from the split, a new report claimed Kidman felt Urban was “not as supportive” of her career as she was of his, leading to issues in the marriage.

A source told People that Kidman and Urban, both managing hectic workloads in their hugely successful careers, had very different perspectives on how they should be supporting each other by the end of their relationship.

Rumours have also begun circulating recently that Urban has moved on with a new woman amid the break-up.

“All the signs point to the fact Keith is with another woman. Let’s just say, Nicole doesn’t dispute that, but she’s still shocked over it,” one anonymous source told entertainment website TMZ.

Another claimed that news of the new relationship was “all over Nashville”, where the couple are based.

Meanwhile, a “well-placed Nashville music business PR source” alleged to the Daily Mail that the mysterious “younger” woman in question also works in the music industry.

“The rumour is that he’s with a younger woman in the business. It’s all everyone is talking about. Everyone wants to know who, but so far, that’s a mystery.”
