The tussle between OpenAI and Elon Musk’s xAI has been heating up in the courtroom. Latest update in the matter is that OpenAI has asked the Federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit that alleges the ChatGPT maker of luring xAI employees to steal trade secrets. The case has been dubbed as a part of Musk’s ongoing harassment by OpenAI in the court of law. OpenAI claimed denied all the claims made under the case and said they are false and unsubstantiated. The filing said, ‘Under Musk’s leadership, talented xAI employees are leaving in droves, and some are coming to OpenAI to help advance OpenAI’s mission.” Those employees have every right to go where they choose, and OpenAI has the right to hire them.” The Attorney and spokespeople for xAI choose not to immediately respond on the filing as reported by Reuters. Apart from that, a spokesperson from OpenAI has declined to comment on the matter. What’s The Lawsuit About? xAI filed a lawsuit last week in the federal court of San Francisco, stating that OpenAI has been engaging in deeply troubled patterns of recruiting former xAI employees to gain access to trade secrets related to Grok, the AI chatbot by Elon Musk’s AI startup. It has also been claimed in the lawsuit that Grok is more efficient and powerful than ChatGPT. And that’s not it, as xAI has also sued Apple for conspiring alongside OpenAI to suppress its competition on the Apple ecosystem. In this case, both Apple and OpenAI have denied any such kind of allegations and asked the court to dismiss the case. And the legal issues are not ending here, as Musk is also suing OpenAI for its conversion to a for-profit company, followed by OpenAI’s case of harassment against the Tesla CEO. OpenAI has stated that the trade-secret lawsuit by xAI is nothing but an attempt to intimidate the company and distract from the failures of Musk’s own competitive AI effort. OpenAI said, ‘The truth is that xAI is hemorrhaging talent to other competitors, including OpenAI,” OpenAI said.’ Get Latest News live on Times Now along with Breaking News and Top Headlines from Technology Science and around the world.
