Sonam Kapoor Attends Anshula Kapoor's Engagement, Refuses To Pose For Paps Amid Pregnancy Rumours

Sonam Kapoor might be stepping into motherhood again. According to reports, the actor and her husband Anand Ahuja are expecting their second child, with sources revealing she is already in her second trimester. While the couple has yet to confirm the news, both families are said to be overjoyed.
The report in Pinkvilla said she is likely to make an official announcement regarding her pregnancy soon. “Sonam is in the second trimester of her pregnancy, and the news has brought immense joy to both families,” a source cited by the entertainment portal claimed.
A different side at family event
The buzz picked up further after Sonam attended cousin Anshula Kapoor’s engagement ceremony in Mumbai. Usually comfortable around the paparazzi, she chose to stay away from the spotlight this time. She skipped photo ops, and her team politely asked photographers to give her some space – a move that only added to the speculation. Interestingly, Sonam arrived solo at the event, without Anand or their son Vayu, and walked straight inside without posing for pictures.
Style that fuelled rumours
Her outfit for the evening was a chic brown Indo-western look – a long skirt, top, and blazer – that struck a balance between glamour and ease. Fans also noticed that Sonam has been sharing Instagram posts in loose, baggy clothing, which has sparked talk about her keeping her pregnancy private for now.
Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja marriage
Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja tied the knot in May 2018 after years of dating, and welcomed Vayu in August 2022. Since then, the actress has frequently shared glimpses of her motherhood journey, balancing her glamorous on-screen persona with her role as a devoted mother.
In August this year, Sonam had penned a heartfelt birthday note as Vayu turned three. “Happy Birthday my baby boy. May you always be this curious, kind, thoughtful and sweet. I hope you are always surrounded by so much love, music and happiness. Mama loves you to the moon and back and again,” she wrote.
On the work front, Sonam Kapoor made her Bollywood debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya and later had a good run in Bollywood with hits like Raanjhanaa and Neerja. Sonam was last seen in the 2023 crime-thriller ‘Blind,’ a remake of the 2011 Korean film of the same name. Directed by Shome Makhija and produced by Sujoy Ghosh, the film marked Sonam’s return to the screen after a six-year career break following The Zoya Factor.
