Henry Cavill Is Back in the Gym After ‘Highlander’ Injury

Henry Cavill is putting in the work to make a speedy recovery after he got injured during Highlander‘s pre-production last month.
Cavill took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a carousel of photos of him working out with a trainer in his leg brace. It also appears that he’s receiving physical therapy. The Man of Steel star captioned the post, “Endure. In enduring, grow strong,” which is a quote from Dak’kon in the video game Planescape: Torment.
Due to his leg injury, pre-production on Chad Stahelski’s (director of the John Wick films) Highlander will be pushed to 2026, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed at the time.
MGM‘s Highlander is a reboot of the 1986 classic about immortal warriors, which starred Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery, and led to sequels as well as a TV series.
This time around, Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista, Marisa Abela, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Max Zhang and Jeremy Irons round out its cast. Michael Finch writes the screenplay. The feature is produced by UA’s Scott Stuber and Nick Nesbitt, in addition to Neal H. Moritz, Stahelski’s 87Eleven Entertainment, Josh Davis of Davis Panzer Productions and Louise Rosner.
Cavill, who famously played Superman in Zack Snyder’s DC films, and has also starred in several action films such as Mission: Impossible Fallout, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, was already training for Highlander for months before the injury occurred.
