When and how Ozzy Osbourne died just weeks after last performance with band

Ozzy Osbourne died alongside his family in July this year – just weeks after a Black Sabbath farewell concert in the band’s hometown of Birmingham. The legendary Black Sabbath singer, from the West Midlands, died aged 76, surrounded by his wife, Sharon, and their children. Black Sabbath, who formed in Birmingham in 1968 and consisted of members Ozzy, Tony Lommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass and Bill Ward on drums, performed together at Villa Park, Birmingham, at the beginning of July. Just weeks after the iconic Back to the Beginning performance , Ozzy Osbourne passed away from a reported heart attack aged 76. In recent years, Ozzy, who passed away on Tuesday, July 22 , had spoken publicly about his ill health but had been determined to make it to Villa Park, Birmingham, for his final performance on July 5, just two and a half weeks before he died, The Mirror reports . His death certificate states that Ozzy Osbourne died following an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction (joint causes). An acute myocardial infarction occurs when the blood flow to the heart is blocked, often by a blood clot, causing damage to the muscles of the heart. The verdict was made public just days after Ozzy was laid to rest during a private burial on the Osbourne family estate in Buckinghamshire. Shortly after his death, Ozzy’s family released a statement at the time, which read: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.” Music legend Ozzy , who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2019, was married to Sharon Osbourne and the two shared children Aimee, Kelly and Jack. On Thursday (October 8), the BBC is releasing a new documentary titled Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, which explores the family’s journey back to UK ahead of Ozzy’s final concert after living in the US. According to documentary producer Expectation, the film will be a “moving and inspirational account” of the last chapter of Ozzy’s life, which was filmed over three years and has been told through “unique and intimate access” to the whole family, A trailer for the 60-minute film sees Sharon revealing that Ozzy is ‘very romantic’ and that he left her notes of love around the house. With the notes visible on screen, one could be seen that read ‘You are the love of my life’ and another that said ‘my baby girl I love you’. Other notes, with many of them framed around their house, read: “Ya know what? I love ya”, and “Dearest darling Sharon, I don’t half love you.” The family reportedly began planning their move back to England in 2022, but the move was delayed for various reasons including Ozzy’s health. The release date for Sharon And Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home was postponed in August out of respect to Osbourne’s family following the rock star’s death in July, weeks after his Back To The Beginning concert with his Black Sabbath bandmates. The trailer offers a glimpse of the sprawling mansion, and Sharon said they “always referred to this as home”. In-between clips of their English country home, Ozzy admitted: “I’m so looking forward to an English summer” and “I feel like I’m finally home”. Sharon And Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home will air on BBC One at 9pm on October 2 and will also be available on BBC iPlayer.
