Newly minted Emmy award winner Noah Wyle may have appeared to be walking the red carpet last night in a classic tuxedo. But his look was actually a nod to health care workers.
“The Pitt” star, who took home the Emmy for outstanding actor in a drama series at the Sept. 14 award ceremony, revealed to Entertainment Tonight that his look was actually created by scrub apparel company FIGS.
“It’s made by the company FIGS that makes the scrubs that we wear on the show and that are on the backs of many health care workers across our country and around the world,” he told the outlet on the Emmys carpet.
Wyle recalled being at the Gotham Awards in New York in June, when he was asked if the tux he was sporting was “as comfortable as the scrubs I wear to work.”

“So, I looked into the camera and I made a challenge to FIGS: ‘Hey FIGS, can you make me a tuxedo that’s as comfortable as the scrubs I wear?’” the actor recounted. “And they went and did it.”
Wyle proudly showed off his custom getup, opening up the tux’s jacket to reveal the FIGS logo and “all their special touches all over it.”
After he was nominated five times for his role on “ER,” Wyle took home his first Emmy Sunday night for his portrayal of Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch on HBO medical drama “The Pitt.” Wyle plays a beleaguered and resilient ER doctor leading the charge over the course of one supersized shift.
In his acceptance speech, Wyle dedicated the award to “anyone coming on shift or going off shift tonight,” and thanked those working in the health care industry, as well as his family, fellow castmates and crew.
He was nominated against Sterling K. Brown in “Paradise,” Gary Oldman in “Slow Horses,” Pedro Pascal in “The Last of Us” and Adam Scott in “Severance.”
In its first season, “The Pitt” also received the coveted Emmy for outstanding drama series, the final award announced to round out the three-hour long ceremony.
