Capitol Hill restaurants already feeling impacts 2 days into shutdown

The lunch rush on Capitol Hill has been far from busy for a number of restaurants since the .
“It was pretty much a ghost town on the Hill,” said Stephanie Hulbert, general manager of Tune Inn Restaurant & Bar, which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. “Breakfast was pretty empty yesterday. So we’re already seeing a little bit of a cut off of business.”

About a block away, at Pete’s Diner on Capitol Hill, it’s a similar story.
“Normally, it’s packed all the way, it’s packed inside and outside,” said owner Gum Tong. “It’s very quiet right now.”
7News stopped by several restaurants in the area. Almost all of them are already seeing fewer customers.
“We barely survived the COVID time and now it’s more shutdown again,” Tong said. “It’s really hard for the businesses.”
