Two people have been rushed to hospital after a possible gas leak in the 02 Centre at Finchley Road, London. Ambulance services were dispatched at around 10.45am this morning to a Nando’s restaurant in the centre.

Located on the ground floor, a sweep of the restaurant was carried out today (September 20) and whilst no abnormal readings were recorded, two people were assessed on the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital. A spokesperson at the 02 Centre said: “The current situation is that the issue is being investigated.

“The restaurant will remain closed until further notice”. All other outlets in the shopping centre remained open as usual.

This comes as Dublin Airport underwent a major evacuation earlier today. Terminal 2 was shut down, with large crowds of passengers ordered to evacuate the building just before 12pm.

A spokesperson for Dublin Airport operator told Dublin Live that the terminal has been evacuated as a “precautionary measure” and asked passengers to follow instructions of airport staff.

The spokesperson said: “Dublin Airport can confirm that Terminal 2 has been evacuated as a precautionary measure. The safety and security of our passengers and staff is our absolute priority.

“Passengers are being directed to designated assembly points and we ask everyone to follow the instructions of airport staff. Flight operations may be temporarily impacted, and we advise passengers to check with their airline for the latest updates.”
