Pickleball first-timers in Noida are gearing up for a unique weekend as Pickit hosts the Pickleball Showdown on October 4–5 at Vijay Sri Academy, Sector 141. The tournament, affiliated with the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), the Uttar Pradesh Pickleball Association (UPPA), and sanctioned under the Pickleball World Rankings (PWR) system, is tailored for beginner and first-time tournament players. Categories include singles (men and women), doubles, and mixed doubles (no age limit). More than just competition, the event promises a fun introduction to the sport, with opportunities for players to experience dinks, drops, and rallies in a structured format. To add to the excitement, prizes worth over Rs 30,000 will be on offer. Over the past few weeks, Pickit has been encouraging new players from across the NCR to register, aiming to increase grassroots participation. Organisers say the Noida showdown will act as a stepping stone for many towards the competitive pickleball circuit.
