Aer Lingus adjusts Cleveland flight schedule for 2026, focuses on weekend travel

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Aer Lingus has extended its six-times weekly route between Cleveland and Dublin into 2026, which will include a Saturday flight next year.
Contrary to recent published reports, however, the flight will not run daily. Instead, the carrier plans to swap Thursday flights with a Saturday flight, starting in late March and running through late October.
According to an airline spokeswoman, the change is being implemented “in response to travel demand patterns” and “will provide more weekend travel options for our customers in Cleveland and the surrounding areas during the busy summer season.”
Aer Lingus launched nonstop service from Cleveland to Dublin in spring 2023, flying the route four times a week, with a six-week pause during the winter.
In 2025, the carrier expanded that service to six times per week during the peak season, and four times per week during late fall and winter.
Currently, the flight is running six times weekly, but will revert to four times per week in late October.
Starting March 29, 2026, the flight will expand from four times per week back to six times.
When it launched in May 2023, the Aer Lingus route was the first nonstop service to Europe from Cleveland since 2018, when two Iceland-based carriers flew from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport to Reykjavik.
The boost in flight frequency this year was seen as a significant win for the region, which has struggled to retain nonstop flights to Europe for years.
To help lure Aer Lingus to Cleveland in 2023, JobsOhio, the state’s economic development arm, offered an $11.8 million incentive package that acts as a minimum revenue guarantee for the carrier, payable only if the flight doesn’t meet certain performance goals.
The incentive, initially set to expire in 2026, was extended through 2027 last year.
