Aldi has announced an opening date for its latest Dauphin County store.
The discount grocery store at 2020 EG Drive at the Blue Ridge Village in Lower Paxton Township will open at 9 a.m. Oct. 16.
For the opening, the first 100 customers in line will receive a gift bag with a sampling of Aldi products and a gift card. Shoppers can also enter a sweepstakes for a $500 Aldi gift card through opening weekend.
The store will carry organic meats, fresh produce, sustainable seafood, an extensive cheese selection and food for nearly every lifestyle, from gluten-free to plant-based.
About 90% of the products sold at the stores are exclusive Aldi brands.
Aldi is also known for weekly limited-time finds including seasonal foods, home goods and more.
Aldi joins other retailers including Starbucks, Jersey Mikes, Great Clips, Lux Nails, CVS Pharmacy, Tide Cleaners, Cafe Fresco and Shiny Shell Car Wash at the development.
Blue Ridge Village is located on the site of the former 132-acre Blue Ridge Country Club, which closed in 2017. Lower Paxton Township-based Triple Crown Corporation is the developer.
The store is part of Aldi’s expansion plans to open 800 stores nationwide by the end of 2028.
The Albrecht family founded the chain in Germany in 1961 and opened its first U.S. store in 1976. It has grown to more than 2,245 locations in 39 states.
The Lower Paxton Township store will offer online shopping and curbside pickup. It will be open from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.
