Manchester Airport has announced changes for both British Airways and Ryanair passengers in the coming weeks as its £1.3billion transformation programme of Terminal 2 reaches completion. From October 7, British Airways will now operate from Terminal 2, joining other airlines which have recently moved their operations including Aer Lingus, Luxair and Finnair. In a statement on its website, the airport said passengers will be contacted directly to confirm the details, while airport staff will be on hand to support the move. It means all British Airways passengers will benefit from new restaurants and outlets which have already opened in Terminal 2, including Joe and The Juice and the Lego store. It’s not just British Airways passengers who will notice some changes at the airport this month. From October 21, Ryanair passengers will no longer be using the usual Terminal 3 entrance. Instead, passengers should use the Terminal 1 Departures A entrance. This is where they will check in and pass through new security lanes. Ryanair passengers will then follow a “clearly signed route into Terminal 3’s departure lounge, where all existing shops and food outlets remain open.” Join the Manchester Evening News WhatsApp group HERE Manchester Airport said that this system will remain until Terminal 1 closes, “at which point the entrance will be renamed and permanently become the entrance to Terminal 3.” It added that airport staff will be on hand to help passengers. Nothing has changed for passengers arriving at Manchester Airport, who will continue to arrive at Terminal 3. Work is already underway on a multi-million pound project to revamp Manchester Airport’s Terminal 3, which will be bigger thanks to space freed up by the closure of Terminal 1. There will be 40 per cent more seating, more space and facilities, brand new security equipment, and new shops and places to eat and drink. The plans also include a huge sports bar with 469 seats named Sporting Chance. It will have impressive airfield views and show a range of sporting events and is set to be one of the easiest features opening to the public. For more of today’s top stories, click here.
