Man kills wife, ends life in Namakkal

A 47-year-old man allegedly killed his wife and ended his life in Namakkal on Wednesday (October 1, 2025).

The deceased were identified as Bhupathi (47) of Santhaipettai Pudur, who was doing lorry body building work, and his wife Kalaiselvi (37). The couple have a daughter, Maheswari (20).

According to the police, Bhupathi used to quarrel with his wife in an inebriated state and on Wednesday morning, when Maheswari tried to pacify her father, he locked her in a room and killed Kalaiselvi using a knife and also ended his life.

On hearing Maheswari screaming, nearby residents came to the spot and found the bodies in the house and rescued Maheswari. The Namakkal police sent the bodies to the Namakkal Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. The police registered a case and are investigating further.
