Acclaimed actor and author Stanley Tucci is coming to your televisions in a new role on NBC this winter.
On Monday, NBC and Tucci announced that the 64-year-old entertainer has been enlisted as a member of the network’s primetime coverage for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina, Italy. Tucci will be featured on NBC and Peacock throughout the games documenting local cuisine, culture, and lifestyle.
The role should be a seamless fit for Tucci, who has won multiple Emmys for his work on CNN’s Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy. He also hosts National Geographic’s Tucci in Italy.
“I immediately thought of Stanley when we started planning for Milan,” said Molly Solomon, NBC Olympics’ executive producer. “America has an affinity for all things Italian, and with his string of hit shows and best sellers, Stanley’s now the it guy on Italian culture in our country. His mix of cool curiosity and masterful storytelling makes him the perfect guide to dish on northern Italy’s culinary and cultural treasures. We can’t wait for him to make America hungry in primetime.”
Tucci ready for primetime
Known for his roles in The Devil Wears Prada, Road to Perdition, The Lovely Bones and the Hunger Games series, Tucci is no stranger to important assignments.
He helped announce his newest one for NBC in a short video message Monday morning.
“You’re rolling?” Tucci asked in the video clip.
“You know where else we’re going to be rolling very soon? In Italy, at the Milan Cortina Olympics, right here on NBC. So, please join me for prime time in Milan. There’ll be great food, great drink and, of course, incredible competition. I’m looking forward to it. I hope you are, too.”
