The Mysuru Division of South Western Railway said that the Mysuru Rail Museum will host a special illumination programme as part of the Dasara celebrations from September 22 to October 2.
In a bid to facilitate more visitors to experience the event, the museum’s working hours will be extended to 8 p.m. during this period.
A release said visitors can witness the illumination of vintage steam locomotives, inspection carriages, rail buses, steam fire pumps, hand-operated breakdown crane, and various other outdoor exhibits.
The museum will also remain open to the public on September 23 and 30, which are otherwise holidays. The authorities said photography using SLR/DSLR cameras will be allowed on payment of prescribed charges.
