Ghana, Japan to Hold Business and Investment Forum in January 2026

Ghana will host a Ghana–Japan Business and Investment Forum in January 2026 as part of a visit by a 50-member Japanese business delegation, with bilateral meetings planned across sectors including trade, agribusiness, transportation, energy, logistics, and communications.

The First Secretary, Head of Economic and Development Cooperation at the Japanese Embassy in Ghana, Mad. Junko Masuda, confirmed the visit at a preparatory meeting in Accra. She said the mission follows President John Dramani Mahama’s participation in the TICAD 9 conference in Tokyo, adding that the delegation will also explore investment opportunities and initiatives to deepen bilateral economic relations.

According to Masuda, the engagements aim not only to strengthen cooperation but also to create jobs and unlock opportunities for growth in both countries.

The Chief Director of the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Noah Tumfo, speaking on behalf of the Minister, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, described the upcoming visit as timely and appropriate, assuring that the Ministry and its Agencies stand ready to work with the Japanese embassy in Ghana to facilitate a smooth investment partnership while fostering economic diplomacy.

The Ghana–Japan Business and Investment Forum is expected to provide a platform for Japanese and Ghanaian companies to build partnerships, attract capital, and strengthen trade links, reflecting Japan’s increasing engagement with Africa’s growth markets.
