Doctor shares 'easy' way to lose belly fat without cutting out any food

A doctor is encouraging people to try an affordable drink that could enhance your health and well-being. The expert recommends adding a glass of apple cider vinegar to your daily routine for a variety of health benefits. Dr Eric Berg DC, writer of ‘The Healthy Keto Plan’ and an advocate for healthy ketosis and intermittent fasting , shared insights on the advantages of apple cider vinegar in a video on his YouTube channel, which boasts 13.9 million subscribers. The video’s caption read: “Looking for an easy and natural way to lose belly fat ? Try apple cider vinegar (ACV)-the secret drink that helps you burn belly fat, improve digestion, and boost metabolism ! In this video, we reveal how drinking just 1 cup a day of apple cider vinegar can help you lose stubborn belly fat and support your weight loss goals.” He added: “If you’re tired of struggling with stubborn belly fat or slow metabolism, apple cider vinegar could be the solution you’ve been looking for!” During the video, Dr Berg explained: “Let’s talk about what you could drink as a one-cup-a-day to help you burn off your belly fat. You have to realise that belly fat is really liver fat that’s spilling over into your belly and one of the absolute best ways to get rid of your belly fat is using apple cider vinegar.” “You would take two tablespoons and a glass of water and you would drink three of those per day. Apple cider vinegar has something called acetic acid that is really potent and powerful to not only break down fat but also to help insulin resistance – the underlying reason why the liver is fatty in the first place. “So just mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water – like 12 ounces – and drink three of those each day.” According to Healthline , research indicates that vinegar could assist people in shedding weight. Several human studies reveal that vinegar can enhance feelings of satiety, leading to fewer calories consumed and subsequent weight loss. One review highlighted that in short-term studies, when participants ingested apple cider vinegar with a meal comprising solid foods, they experienced appetite suppression for 120 minutes post-meal. They also snacked less for 3-24 hours after consuming the apple cider vinegar. Despite longer-term studies showing no link between apple cider vinegar and appetite suppression, a 2024 randomised control trial study revealed significant reductions in weight (6-8 kg), body fat ratio, waist and hip circumferences, body mass index (BMI), blood sugar, as well as fats and cholesterol in the blood after daily consumption of 3 doses of apple cider vinegar (15 millilitres per tablespoon (mL/tbsp)) for 12 weeks. Healthline suggests that larger studies are needed to confirm these results.
