Mohsin Naqvi Shredded For Destroying Pakistan's Reputation: 'No Knowledge...'

The Asia Cup Trophy handover drama continues with Mohsin Naqvi, who is the president of Asian Cricket Council, asking the India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav to fly to UAE and collect the silverware from the regional body’s office. Naqvi insisted on presenting the trophy and medals to the players of the Indian team that defeated Pakistan in the Asia Cup final last Sunday in Dubai.
However, with India players not refusing, he took Naqvi, who is also the interior minister of Pakistan and the chairman of their cricket board, walked out of the match venue with trophy in tow and thus denying the victorious team a chance to celebrate with the trophy they won after dominating the tournament.
Member of India’s 1983 world cup winning squad, Madan Lal, has slammed Naqvi for damaging the reputation of Pakistan with his action and claiming he has no knowledge of how the sports should be played.
“All these things should not have happened. When players lift that trophy in front of the fans, or on live TV, that is when it looks good,” Madan told India Today.
“Mohsin Naqvi has no knowledge of the sport. How a sport should be played, how one should behave. There were so many people from the Indian team who were standing on the dais afterwards. He should have told someone else to give the trophy to the Indian team. The PCB chief has destroyed his and his country’s reputation,” he added.
Madan also questions the logic of asking Surya to be at ACC office to collect the trophy when it should have originally been handed to him at the time of prize ceremony in Dubai.
“Why should Suryakumar Yadav go to the Asian Cricket Council office to collect the trophy? India won, you should have let them celebrate with the trophy on the ground. But of course, he does not have any knowledge, in their country everything is decided by the armed forces,” Madan said.
